Privacy notice

Race Shape is a product of SEOPEAKS. We collect what is needed to build your plan and run your account, never your card details, and we do not sell or advertise with personal information. The database is in Ireland. You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold at any time.

01 · Who is responsible

Race Shape is a product of SEOPEAKS, operated by Ian Naude, trading as SEOPEAKS, the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Questions and requests go to ian@seopeaks.com.

02 · What we collect

• Account details — your email address, a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), and your name if you give it.
• What you tell the plan — your sport, races and dates, recent times, weekly training volume, the days and time you have, where you train, and optionally age, sex, weight, food exclusions and a note about an injury or niggle.
• Payments — the reference, amount, status and PayFast's transaction number. Never your card details.
• Usage — which pages and screens are visited, through Google Analytics, without anything you type into the plan.

03 · Health information

An injury note, and to a lesser degree weight and age, can be health information, which POPIA treats as special personal information. All of these fields are optional. We use them only to shape your plan — for example, to slow the weekly increase when you report a niggle — and for nothing else. By entering them you consent to that use, and you can remove them at any time.

04 · Why we use it

• To generate, save and show your plan.
• To run your account and unlock what you pay for.
• To answer you when you contact us.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used, so it can be improved.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

06 · Information stored outside South Africa

The database is hosted by Supabase in Ireland, in the European Union, and the website is served through Cloudflare's global network. Personal information is transferred there on the basis that EU data protection law gives a level of protection comparable to POPIA.

07 · How long we keep it

Account and plan information is kept while your account is open. Payment records are kept for as long as financial record-keeping law requires. If you close your account, the rest is deleted.

08 · Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to how it is used, by emailing ian@seopeaks.com. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

09 · Cookies

Your sign-in session and your saved plan are kept in your browser's storage so the site works. Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits.
